  • If one of the parents does not appear in person at the consular office to obtain the visa for their minor child, a notarized authorization from the other parent must be submitted, stating their consent for the child to obtain a Mexican visa.

  • In the case of minors whose parental authority is granted solely to one parent by court ruling, a certified copy of the official document granting such authority must be submitted. If the document was issued in a third country, it must be legalized or apostilled, as applicable, and accompanied by a translation if it is in a language other than Spanish.

  • Parents and legal guardians are required to present a valid, official photo identification with a signature, in which the names must match exactly as they appear on the birth certificate.

Frequently Asked Question (FAQ)

If my visa application was denied, when can I apply again?

A general rule is 6 months after denial. However, it is advisable to wait until there are significant changes in your circumstances. For example, getting married, having a child, acquiring assets, receiving a job promotion, increasing your salary, traveling more with no record of overstaying, or obtaining visas from other countries. These factors can help strengthen your application.

When is the best time to apply for a tourist visa?

It is recommended to apply around 5-6 months before your planned travel date to allow sufficient processing time and increase your chances of securing cheaper flight tickets once your visa is approved.
